padi advanced open water diver course

DPV and Nitrox

do you need more confidence to conduct your own dives?

do you want to learn more?

The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. Plus you don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed so you can continue straight into it after the PADI Open Water Diver course.  This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI instructor. This course builds on what you’ve learned, and develops new techniques and skills by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving.

Don't forget that each dive in this course is the first dive of the PADI Specialty Diver course for that discipline. Each dive will give you a taste and if there's something particular that really interests you have a great opportunity to learn more about it by taking the full Speciality course.

you choose what you want to do...

The course is 5 dives with each dive focusing on a separate discipline. A deep dive and an underwater navigation dive are mandatory and the other three you can choose. This allows you to tailor the course to suit your needs and interests. You can choose from:

Night - see all the colours and find those nocturnal critters, watch the triggerfish go to bed for the night, see barracuda and rays hunting.

Nitrox - see just how much more bottom time you get from increasing the oxygen content in your tank.

Peak Performance Buoyancy - get greater control and be more efficient in the water; consume less air and extend your dive time.

Photography - learn the basics of capturing images underwater and take away some lovely memories of your underwater adventures.

Videography - capture the reef and its movement as you glide along it and have some great film to show your friends.

DPV - using an underwater scooter, learn how to cruise around the dive site feeling like James Bond.

AWARE Fish Identification - be able to identify what you are seeing so you know when you have seen something special.

Search and Recovery - something's missing - learn how to search underwater and safely bring the object to the surface using a lift bag.

Wreck - learn the techniques and uncover the wonder and history of diving on these ghost vessels.

Underwater Naturalist - gain a greater understanding of the reef and its structure and inhabitants.

Multilevel & Computer - learn how to extend you bottom time by planning multi-level dives and using dive computers.

get out of the classroom and into the water...

Unlike the PADI Open Water Diver course course there is only a small amount of academic work, after all you've already learnt how to dive.

Each dive that you choose has a chapter in the PADI Adventures In Diving manual with some questions at the end which focus on the most important points for each topic. These then act as the basis of a review and briefing session with your instructor. This is where the real value of having an instructor with a vast amount of experience shows as they elaborate and offer more indepth explanations.

At the end of the course you will be certified to dive to a maximum depth of 30m and will feel capable of conducting your own dives safely and confidently.

we guarantee never to have more that four students in any course. this ensures high standards of learning, safety and enjoyment, as well as a professional and personal service. private tuition is also available, contact us for further details.
