The dive site for today was Japanese Gardens, a nice shallow bay full of coral and fish. The weather and conditions were great and by looking off the edge of the boat you could make out every detail about the reef with such good visibility.
For the first dive I would be following Luke and Danielle doing a Discover Scuba Diving experience. We swam over to the beach to complete a few skills in the shallow water before swimming out onto the reef to see what this dive site has to offer. The couple had a great time swimming between all the Parrotfish, Butterfly fish and large coral formations while breathing underwater for the first time.
Before long it was time to go back to the boat and enjoy the sunshine and calm conditions in the bay.
Everyone who was doing a second dive geared up ready to get back in. For this dive I would be following Charlotte on the first day of her Open Water Diver course. After completing the skills for the dive, we made our way out to the south end of the bay and around the corner.
The visibility was not quite as good as it was in the bay due to it being slightly more open to the elements. However we did see a lot of nice reef life including the resident Juvenile Harlequin Sweetlips and a tiny Glass Anemone Shrimp. After a great afternoon on the boat, we made our way back to the shop to have a look through all of the photos from the day.
