Underwater Photography is a captivating and creative challenge. Not only will you learn how to capture some great memories of your holiday, but you'll vastly improve your buoyancy and learn to dive far more effectively.

The PADI Digital Underwater Photography Specialty gets you going quickly with today's modern digital equipment, whether you use a point-and-shoot camera or a sophisticated D-SLR like the professionals.

You will learn;

  • How to choose the right underwater camera system for you
  • The three primary principles for good underwater photographs
  • How to manipulate the light to affect the colour of your images and some basic editing techniques
  • How to dive efficiently with a camera and how to ensure that you don't damage or harm the reef

We will also give you some hints and tips to improve your techniques and start you on your way to a lifetime of creative achievement.

What you need to know

Who can take this course?

To take this course, you must be at least 10 years old and be a PADI Open Water Diver or PADI Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organisation).

If you don’t meet these minimum requirements then we can put together a package which will include them for you, contact us for more information.

How much does it cost?

The PADI Digital Underwater Photography course is just 5,900 THB

You are encouraged to use your own camera system on this course as it makes sense to learn with what you will use. This will give you greater familiarity and confidence with your own kit. If you are just starting out on this adventure and do not have your own camera yet then we do have systems for hire. Cameras are 1,500 THB for the 2 dives of this course and include a disc of all your images.

What's included?

The course includes: the PADI Digital Underwater Photography eManual, internationally recognised PADI Digital Underwater Photography certification card, full equipment hire and boat fees, high quality instruction from experienced and qualified instructors, tea, coffee, water and light refreshments on the boat, tea, coffee, water, Wifi and internet station use in the dive centre.

How long is the course?

This 2-dive course can be completed in as litlle as 1 day. The morning can be spent with some theory review and the afternoon will be spent practically, in the water, taking photographs.
