Recreational Diving

Recreational diving is diving for pleasure. Whether your diving in tropical oceans or a freezing mountain lake, a reservoir or a missile silo, and whether you're there to explore a corel reef or an archaeological site, a cave or a wreck. It's the most diverse area of diving, because we all take pleasure from doing different things when we dive.

Diving Courses

Master Divers offers a full range of diving courses to suit your needs, based on the tropical island of Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand. We have stunning reefs, wrecks, caves and swim-throughs, all with abundant marine life, making it the ideal location for you to learn in.

At Master Divers, we think you’ll have a more enjoyable learning experience in a small group, so we restrict our classes to a maximum of four students. This means you’ll benefit from the personal and individual attention you need to succeed, without waiting around for a bundle of other students to perform their underwater skills. Oh, and did I mention that we have a 100% pass rate on our Open Water courses?

Have a look through our diving courses to see exactly what we offer. Don't worry if it seems confusing at first, we've given lots of information about each course to help you make a deicsion, but if you still find it difficult to make a decision, feel free to contact us. All of our diving courses can be booked online.

Diving Holiday Packages

Also, if you should see something you like, why not consider one of our Diving Holiday Packages? Not only do they offer the simplicity of one package price covering your accommodation, meals, diving courses and certification, fun diving, equipment hire, and the chance to see our friendly smiling faces, but you can book securely online for maximum tranquility. Go on, have a look, you know you want to... :)

PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre

The PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre status is a symbol of excellence that Master Divers displays proudly. It shows that we are a highly professional dive centre providing quality diver training with an excellent safety record, so you know you're in good hands.

What About Safety?

It's an important question. Fortunately, with Master Divers, you don't need to worry.

Master Divers is one of the longest established dive schools on the island and has enjoyed a 100% safety record throughout its history, so you can rest assured that you're in safe hands. Unfortunately, not many dive schools can make a similar claim: a testament to Master Divers dedication to your safe enjoyment of this sport.

Should the unthinkable happen, our Divemasters and Instructors are trained to keep a cool head and expertly manage emergency situations, and they are fully conversant with the latest Search and Rescue, CPR, and First Aid techniques. We have fully stocked medical kits and Oxygen in the dive school and on the dive boats, and our dive boats are equipped with marine radios allowing instant contact with emergency medical services. We take every precaution to ensure your safety, so that you can relax, dive, and let the fun in.

Whale Sharks are what we're famous for. Koh Tao is a normal stopping off point for Whale Sharks on their annual trips around the world so they're relatively common here. They're completely harmless plankton feeders and the ones we see here range in size from 2.5 metres to 7 metres long, but they can grow bigger still.
Sairee beach, about ten minutes walk from Mae Haad, is the largest beach on Koh Tao. Despite the tranquility of this beach during the day, at night it becomes Koh Tao's party capital. The beach is lined with bars and clubs which keep bumping till the early hours.
After the exhileration of the dives, chill out in the hot sun on the deck of one of Master Divers' dive boats.
A typical Mae Haad sunset. Mae Haad is Koh Tao's main village where Master Divers is situated, and this is part of the scene from our sunset view bar.
Nudibranch means 'external lung'. These critters are found in various shapes, sizes and disguises all around Koh Tao, but without the benefit of your Divemaster's local knowledge, you'll probably never find one.
Accommodation options on Koh Tao vary from basic but clean rooms through to luxury suites. Most common is the beach bungalow: usually equipped only with a fan and a cold shower (but sometimes television, DVD player, fridge, hotshower and air conditioning), they are set right on the beach or in beautiful gardens with a balcony to chill out and soak up the vibe.
