padi rescue diver course

Help!

Would you know how to rescue a panicked diver or search for a missing diver?

The PADI Rescue Diver course expands on self rescue and accident prevention skills learned in previous diver training and teaches additional rescue skills and accident management abilities. This will make you far more aware of yourself and your dive buddy, maximizing safety and enjoyment, and gives you the both the skills to avoid emergency situations before they arise, and the confidence to manage a real emergency situation should it occur.

Most rescue divers will recommend this course because, though challenging, it's the most rewarding course they have done - it’s a lot of fun, and you will notice an immediate and dramatic improvement in your dive skills.

what you will do....

On Dry Land:

  • Watch the PADI Rescue Diver DVD and work though the accompanying PADI Rescue Diver manual you will learn about the concepts of diver related stress, accident prevention and the methodology of accident management.
  • Your instructor will guide your learning, discussing the key points and building on your knowledge with their experience.
  • The, "What if ..?" mental rehearsals that will result are crucial to your accident management thought process and will ensure that you are prepared mentally for a varying number of scenarios.
  • By the end of the course you will complete a multiple choice examination.

In The Water:

  • We will remind you of the self rescue techniques and emergency drills that you have previously learnt.
  • We will teach you new techniques designed to help you assist another diver.
  • We allow you to put these skills into practice by slowly building up their fluidity.
  • Next you will use these new techniques together with the accident management process so that you control and manage "real" accident scenarios.

It's important to remember that everyone is different with different capabilities and strengths. This course allows you to explore this for yourself so that you are fully rehearsed to manage, delegate or assist confidently in an emergency situation.

There is no one right answer in an emergency: there are many ways to pick up a pen! This course allows you to have explored the thought process and weigh up your options quickly, decisively and confidently depending on the conditions, divers and environment.
