Rachael

Rachael worked at Master Divers during 2010, ’11 and 12 – she taught diving and helped in the shop too.  She left, with Phill, to pursue her dream of working in a natural healing environment.  We wish her the best of luck.  Here’s how her page read…

Rach comes from the UK where she studied Pharmacology at The University of Leeds.  Realising that being cooped up in a lab was not going to be fun, she branched into medical sales where her office was her car.  After receiving a healthy and surprise bonus, she decided to go travelling the world!  Koh Tao was her first stop and having never thought of scuba diving before, gave it a go… and loved it!!! 
Along the way Rach spent 3 months in Byron Bay where she discovered the world of natural healing, meditation and energy…. Cue the birth of Rainbow Rachie, as she is now often known!!  This new found energy from within gave Rach the false impression that she could return to Pharma sales and be a calm and indeed zen-like rep… in fact, that was not the case!  Rach quickly realized that the UK was not where she was meant to be and upon completing her advanced course in the Red Sea, decided to leave the rat race and join the happy way of life that Koh Tao offers!  Her office was about to become the sea!!!
Rach arrived back in Koh Tao in February 2010 and was a PADI instructor by July.  Since then she has been back to the UK a couple of times for wedding duties and to celebrate her niece Ellie’s last 2 birthdays but now she is bouncing around with excitement at the fact that she is now here to stay – woop woop!
Rach has joined the MD family to work with Charlotte and Grumble on the front desk where, although still loving diving, she will be gaining valuable experience in the dry side of diving….  As such she is likely the one who will greet you upon arrival at the shop…. You may recognize her as the highly skilled under water guitarist from our Koh Taonian Rhapsody  video…!
