About Master Divers

Master Divers is Koh Tao’s leading independent dive school, and one of the longest established with nearly twenty years of experience. Perhaps that's why famous Hollywood actors choose Master Divers when they learn to dive.

Or maybe it's because of our 100% diver safety record envied by other dive schools the world over, not just in Koh Tao.

Perhaps it's because we know the island better than anyone else - we were amongst the very first people to dive on this island before there were any dive schools here.

No? Perhaps it's because you care about reef conservation? All the buoy lines laid down at the dive sites around Koh Tao were placed by Pi Dong, our Dive Boat Captain, who has sailed the world over and is one of the most highly respected people on the island. These are now used by all the dive schools in Koh Tao, preventing anchor damage to our beautiful coral reefs.

Recreational Dive Training

We offer total training in recreational diving at every level, from taking your first breath underwater to becoming a master diving instructor and every stage in between. Whether you just want to have a go to see if you like it or whether you want to change your life completely and become a professional diving instructor, Master Divers should be your first choice.


Experienced Divers

Master Divers also caters for experienced divers looking to explore Koh Tao’s numerous dive sites. We can provide anything you might need: a full dive kit, a tank full of air, a boat (complete with captain and crew!), a guide and even a dive buddy - if you neglected to bring one with you.


Technical Dive Training

If you want to go beyond the limits of recreational diving we can take you further, with full technical diver training through Master Tec and from the famous Trident team, discoverers of the wreck of the USS Lagarto, a WW2 US Navy submarine. Look out for them on the Discovery Channel. The MV Trident is a steel-hulled 18 berth tech vessel, the finest boat on the island, and also offers liveaboard dive trips to some of the most exciting wrecks in the largely unexplored Gulf of Thailand.

Accommodation options on Koh Tao vary from basic but clean rooms through to luxury suites. Most common is the beach bungalow: usually equipped only with a fan and a cold shower (but sometimes television, DVD player, fridge, hotshower and air conditioning), they are set right on the beach or in beautiful gardens with a balcony to chill out and soak up the vibe.
Sairee beach, about ten minutes walk from Mae Haad, is the largest beach on Koh Tao. Despite the tranquility of this beach during the day, at night it becomes Koh Tao's party capital. The beach is lined with bars and clubs which keep bumping till the early hours.
You're most likely to see either Hawksbill turtles or Greenback turtles around Koh Tao, though other breeds occasionally stop by. This particular Hawksbill is a resident of these parts and is regularly seen at the Twin Peaks dive site feeding on corals.
Technical diving takes the sport to another level. It requires greater knowledge and greater skill, as you enter into the world of decompression diving as deep as 70 metres (that's more than a 23 storey building!). Master Divers is one of the few schools that also teaches technical diving, and we can teach you from beginner through to Master Instructor.
